Explanation of my RACI Chart:

I used this week’s contents/notes as my guide to figure out what roles did what tasks best – however, I labeled them based on my personal experience. I created my chart from the perspective of an agency team like you asked us to.

Account and project managers are both in-the-loop, or informed, of all the things going on project wise since they are the two team leads. Every role got assigned consulted and informed of timeline because I’m looking at timeline in a more classic project timeline sense (milestones, extensions, deadlines). For example, if the developer runs into a last-minute issue with a feature that breaks the site, they need to consult other departments to debug, and vice versa for each member. Also, if the project manager/account manager needs something added or changed they would need to consult the specified department to figure out a timeline change.

To that same end I also listed the account manager as consulted with client meetings, because typically within agency sized teams – designers and coders are also sometimes generating leads and can pass them along to the person in charge of client meetings.

Content writer was given informed for sitemap, wireframe, copydeck, and keyword because I think that these are all task areas that’s content could directly affect the analysis of information needed to guide a brand or generate content for targeted audiences.

Both UX and Designer where given responsibility of wireframes because in my experience both roles generally work together to develop a wireframe. Ultimately the UX designer is accountable to my knowledge. Each member of the team is also listed as informed under site mapping. I did this because I figured if the project manager requests something changed or modified then depending on the context of the content changed it will need to be addressed in some capacity by each team member (like if a webpage is added or modified and needs new or updated content). On the same note – the account manager would need to be informed of these changes as well to inform the client. Or if a client requests a change, the rest of the team needs to be notified by the account manager of the change requested.

For QA testing I listed both the developer and UX designer as responsible as I believe they would both be testing new implementations equally.

I could be totally missing the mark on all of this, but this is how I interpreted it.

  1. You’ve done a great job. I like the way you designed the RACI chart as well. The only note is that only one person can be ‘responsible’ for getting a task done, though saying that, I can see how the designer and the ux designer would consult heavily on something like wireframes.
